Murphy is recruiting for an Environmental Advisor or Senior Environmental Advisor to work with Energy at Uxbridge Moor. A day in the life of a Murphy Environmental Advisor or Senior Environmental Advisor includes:
- Establishing and promoting best practice in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function.
- Carrying out regular inspections of sites and workplaces to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures, and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
- Conducting incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure, analysing all data, and making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
- Collating Business / Contract environmental and sustainability statistics in a timely manner and submitting to SHES Management & SHES function for reporting purposes.
- Reviewing Environmental information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing Environment & Sustainability campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the SHES Management.
- Advising and supporting project teams with managing their environmental and sustainability responsibilities.
- Providing advice, support, and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their environmental responsibilities.
- Identifying significant Environmental issues for the project and helping set up projects to include appropriate controls.
- Identifying Environmental & Ecology consents / permits or exemptions that are required and ensuring they are obtained.
- Maintaining records as necessary to ensure compliance with Legislation, Company procedures and Contract Requirements.
- Working in a small team of environmental specialists and liaising with third-party environment and ecology consultants.
- Working and sharing best practices with an ever-growing E&S function.

- Experience in an Environmental Advisory role.
- Qualified with an Environmental Degree.
- Working knowledge of application of environmental law in the construction industry.
- Understanding of practical environmental risk mitigation on significant construction projects such as ecological mitigation, consents, licensing and DCO/TCPA planning discharge experience, water management and pollution prevention, biodiversity net gain, waste management, statutory nuisance, and contaminated land.
- Construction/Infrastructure experience.
- Associate ISEP membership working towards PISEP is desirable (we can support this transition).
- Knowledge of 14001 standards.
