Murphy is recruiting a Senior Planner for the Energy Team on the National Grid, Uxbridge Moor Project. Our business is renowned for its in‑house expertise and continuous drive to innovate in the industry, supporting breakthrough transmission and distribution projects across four countries.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner:
- Assimilate information and summarise it for communicating the work scope.
- Prepare a resourced programme, reviewing outcomes for conformance with expectations.
- Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
- Prepare visual material to support planned methods.
- Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
- Define methods and establish outputs in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including supply chain where appropriate.
- Liaise with the design engineer to establish a temporary works design brief.
- Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect cost items.
- Attend bid review meetings to contribute a clear view of scope and delivery intentions.
- Attend handover meetings to provide a clear view of scope and delivery intentions and define further tasks.
- In consultation with the estimator advise the project team on required feedback reports and support.
Experience required:
- Experience on major civil engineering and/or construction projects.
- Experience working on HV Power, Transmission & Distribution projects.
- Use of planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
- Active experience with a wide range of planning techniques, serving both tendering and contract delivery.
- A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
