Position Summary
With a strong growth agenda in the UK, Ireland, and internationally, Murphy Geospatial are seeking a dynamic Sales Director – Monitoring Division. In this pivotal role, you will lead our business development and sales strategy, managing key accounts while expanding our presence across Europe. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious sales leader with deep knowledge of monitoring, geospatial or construction technology to drive strategic growth, close high‑value contracts, and shape the global expansion of our Monitoring Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Strategy: Lead business development and sales strategy for the Monitoring Division across UK, Ireland, and international markets. Develop, implement, and execute strategic growth plans aligned to Monitoring Division Strategy 2025+ and business objectives. Manage key accounts, ensuring proactive pursuit, conversion, and client satisfaction. Oversee inbound enquiries and ensure CRM (SugarCRM) pipeline integrity across the team.
- Commercial & Bid Support: Work with estimators, delivery teams, and technical managers to ensure commercial alignment and accuracy in bids. Lead contract negotiations with clients and partners, securing favourable terms. Ensure robust handover processes from sales to delivery.
- Team Development & Enablement: Support onboarding, mentoring, and leadership of Client Engagement Managers and regional sales staff. Encourage collaboration across BD, marketing, technical and delivery teams. Act as a brand ambassador at meetings, corporate events, trade shows, and industry conferences.
- Marketing & Market Engagement: Coordinate marketing input for case studies, testimonials, and strategic campaigns. Represent Murphy Geospatial at industry events to enhance brand visibility and establish connections. Track and analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
- Performance & Reporting: Monitor, track and report on BD performance, pipeline health, and revenue forecasts. Analyse KPIs and propose corrective actions as needed to meet targets. Deliver regular updates to MD, CBDO and divisional leadership.
Profile & Experience
- 7+ years in BD/sales leadership within monitoring, geospatial, construction tech, or engineering consultancy.
- Proven track record in closing high‑value, multi‑stakeholder contracts in infrastructure/rail/civils sectors.
- Strong familiarity with the UK and Irish construction market, with exposure to European/US markets desirable.
- Expertise in CRM and pipeline management (ideally SugarCRM).
- Strong communicator, able to engage confidently from C‑suite to site level.
- Strategic thinker with ability to execute hands‑on business development.
