Due to continued business growth, we are excited to announce an opportunity for a Strategic Account Manager – Utilities & Energy to drive growth and strengthen relationships within this sector. This role is ideal for someone with deep industry knowledge, strong networks, and a proven ability to win complex digital work packages for large capital programmes. This is a high-impact role requiring thought leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Business Development & Account Growth
- Lead and grow strategic accounts in both the Utilities and Energy sectors across the UK.
- Develop account plans to expand Murphy Geospatial’s digital and geospatial service offerings, leveraging Woolpert's wider international expertise in the sector.
- Identify and shape opportunities for large digital work packages within major capital programmes (infrastructure renewals & upgrades, green energy, nuclear).
- Work closely with bid, technical, and delivery teams to support winning proposals and framework positions.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships across utilities suppliers, green energy developers, the nuclear sector, Tier 1 contractors, and their suppliers.
- Translate complex technical solutions into clear ROI narratives for procurement, commercial, and bid evaluation teams.
- Represent the client’s strategic objectives internally, ensuring high-quality delivery and long-term partnership development.
- Act as a trusted advisor on the use of geospatial, BIM, and digital twin methodologies to support planning, design, and operational decision-making.
- Industry Leadership & Advocacy
- Represent Murphy Geospatial at industry forums, conferences, and working groups.
- Participate in panel discussions, webinars, or technical committees to strengthen brand visibility and establish credibility in the respective digital domain(s).
- 10+ years of experience in the utilities or energy sector with an established professional network in the UK.
- Proven track record of winning bids or shaping digital work packages for large capital programmes.
- Comfortable with client-side stakeholder management and translating technical value propositions into business cases.
- Experience with large infrastructure projects (cable & pipeline route optioneering, solar, wind & green energy developments, nuclear construction and decommissioning).
- Knowledge of BIM, Digital Twin, and Geospatial technologies.
- Full Right to Work in the UK.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK as needed for client meetings, site visits, industry events, and account development.
- Active contributor to industry forums, panels, or publications on utilities, energy and digital innovation. (Desirable)
- Credible utilities / energy sector presence.
- Strong communicator and relationship builder.
- Commercially sharp with a strategic mindset.
- Technically curious (BIM/digital/geospatial).
