Murphy AI is a next-generation debt collection platform powered by artificial intelligence, designed to optimize recovery rates while maintaining respectful and personalized communication. Our advanced automation streamlines the process of collecting overdue invoices for businesses, providing a seamless and effective solution.

At Murphy AI, we’re tackling one of the toughest challenges in fintech: making debt recovery more efficient, autonomous and scalable. Our AI-powered agents adapt instantly, engaging with debtors across channels like voice, email and SMS to maximize results while preserving trust. By combining advanced artificial intelligence with powerful automation, we’re setting a new standard for how businesses recover payments. As a fast-growing startup that has already made an impact within less than a year in the market, we are building a talented team to scale our operations and drive our vision forward.

We are looking for a VP of Revenue to own the full revenue engine end-to-end: from deal shaping and pre-sales through activation, delivery, and expansion. This role is accountable not just for closing revenue, but for making revenue real—ensuring what is sold converts into measurable outcomes, scalable delivery, and durable account growth. You will design and lead the systems, standards, and teams that make revenue predictable, repeatable, and compounding—not dependent on heroic efforts. Your north stars? Time to Value, Net Revenue Retention, and Deployment Quality. This will likely be our first Leadership Team hire in London. You will play a key role in shaping Murphy AI’s culture, operating model, and multi-location execution.

Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for revenue from pre-sales through delivery and expansion.
  • Ensure a tight feedback loop between what is sold, what is delivered, and what drives expansion.
  • Eliminate gaps between Sales, Deployment, and Account Management.
  • Ensure every deal is grounded in clear, deliverable outcomes.
  • Define and enforce go/no-go criteria before deals progress.
  • Partner closely with Sales to shape deals that can scale operationally.
  • Own the Deployment Strategist and Pre-Sales functions as core revenue drivers.
  • Ensure customers are activated and deployed on time, on scope, and with measurable impact.
  • Drive fast time-to-first-value and eliminate firefighting through strong execution discipline.
  • Ensure account growth is driven by demonstrated outcomes, not pressure or opportunism.
  • Build a system where delivery quality naturally leads to expansion.
  • Protect long-term account value as revenue scales.

Requirements

  • Background: Structured problem-solver with client exposure.
  • Experience in Management Consulting or Professional Services environments (e.g. strategy consulting, implementation, complex SaaS delivery).
  • Strong ability to structure ambiguous problems, define clear outcomes, and translate them into executable plans.
  • Comfortable operating in client-facing, high-stakes environments with senior stakeholders.
  • Start-up / Scale-up experience: Proven experience operating in an early-stage or scale-up company (not just large, structured organizations).
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt from structured environments to speed, ambiguity, and imperfect systems.
  • Experience building or fixing functions where processes, roles, and ownership were not yet clearly defined.
  • Team building and leadership: Track record of hiring, structuring, and scaling teams across multiple roles (e.g. pre-sales, delivery, account management).
  • Experience creating clear role definitions, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Ability to build high talent density teams and develop strong individual contributors into leaders.
  • End-to-end revenue and delivery ownership: Experience owning or heavily influencing the full lifecycle: deal shaping → delivery → expansion.
  • Strong understanding of how delivery quality drives revenue growth and retention.
  • Ability to push back on deals or scope when delivery risk is too high.
  • Systems builder mindset: Proven ability to design and implement repeatable processes and operating systems.
  • Experience defining metrics, leading indicators, and performance standards.
  • Comfortable balancing structure vs speed (knows when to standardize and when to stay flexible).
  • High agency and accountability: Takes ownership beyond scope; operates with a “this is mine to solve” mindset.
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Sets a high bar for execution quality and holds others accountable.

What we offer

  • Stock options: Because we all build Murphy together – you'll own a piece of what we’re creating.
  • Impact: Be part of our startup journey from day one, playing a key role in our growth and building something meaningful from the ground up.
  • Learning: Continuous development through trainings, knowledge-sharing, and exposure to other top-tier startups in our ecosystem.
  • Hybrid & Flexible: Our default setup is hybrid – 3 days a week at our office in Poblenou, surrounded by a thriving tech scene, and 2 days of remote work. But if there’s one thing that defines us, it’s flexibility: we trust you to organize your time and space in the way that helps you do your best work.

Our Process

  • First Interview – Getting to Know You: A conversation with a future teammate who’s excited to find a new colleague. We’ll talk about your story, what drives you, and what you’re looking for next—no trick questions, just a genuine exchange.
  • Second Interview – Deep Dive: You’ll meet the Hiring Manager and potentially another team member. This is a more technical discussion where we explore your skills in detail, walk through real scenarios, and answer any questions you might have about the role.
  • Tech Assessment or Business Case: A practical exercise to see how you approach challenges similar to those you’d tackle at Murphy. You’ll have time to reflect and showcase your thinking—no rush, no surprises.
  • Meet the Founders: Finally, meet the founders. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience our culture firsthand and meet more of the team who could soon be your colleagues.

We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where everyone, regardless of background, identity, or experience, feels valued and empowered to thrive. We believe that different perspectives drive innovation and success, and we actively foster an environment where all voices are heard and respected.
