We’re looking for a proactive and supportive HSE Compliance Officer to join our team. In this role, you’ll help our site stay compliant, safe, and environmentally responsible while promoting a positive culture that puts people first.

You’ll work closely with our site teams, offering practical guidance and helping ensure our standards remain high across this Murfitt’s Group operational facility. This permanent role is based upon 40hrs/week between Monday & Friday onsite at our facility in Lakenheath, with some occasional national travel to other ETEL group locations.

You’ll play a key part in keeping people safe and supporting our environmental obligations. Your work will include:

  • Reviewing and updating Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments
  • Carrying out and maintaining COSHH Assessments and registers
  • Supporting accident and incident investigations
  • Ensuring contractor documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Helping identify training needs and supporting delivery
  • Coordinating fire drills and first aid training
  • Maintaining statutory inspections and ensuring follow‑ups are completed
  • Managing environmental documentation and permit records
  • Assisting with Environment Agency visits and quarterly returns
  • Supporting TRA audits and documentation
  • Ensuring weighbridge calibration and documentation is maintained

We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, confident on site, and passionate about improving HSE performance. You should bring:

  • Experience working in an operational HSE environment
  • Great communication skills and the ability to engage with teams at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to travel across Murfitt’s Group sites if required
  • IOSH Managing Safely (essential)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
  • Full UK Cat B driving licence (essential)
