The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 € per year.

The main function of the job is to manage the process design and implementation of between three and four new development projects at any given time and deliver all projects within a 12‑month cycle. The role involves developing production processes and controls for a variety of projects across several production sites, including the UK, China, and Japan. It also requires providing technical support and first line support for the MK Production department, covering SMA, Hybrid assembly, Production Test, Dicing Line, Diced product Automatic Line, FHP Moulding Line, Encapsulation, and Laser marking.

Additionally, the engineer will provide support to the Celab site as required, complete product transfers to Murata’s main manufacturing site in China, collaborate with process engineering teams from the parent company in Japan to develop automated processes, monitor and optimise the technical performance of assembly equipment at both UK and China sites, and organise and manage the effective delivery of tailored training plans for trainee technicians and production staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver all process design and implementation of designated or assigned product projects within a challenging 12‑month cycle.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing technicians in the department, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum output.
  • Complete mechanical product design concepts and development for a variety of projects.
  • Support prototype, pilot build, and mass manufacturing process development across UK and China sites.
  • Complete production fixture design, build, and qualification.
  • Manage general project activities, including project leading, with regular project updates to the Engineering Management team.
  • Create process and product costings with labour times for various projects and products.
  • Design, coordinate, and qualify internal and external product packaging.
  • Create detailed bills of material for projects and products.
  • Create detailed process documentation for new and legacy products.
  • Create comprehensive batch yield and failure analysis reports for both UK and China sites.
  • Complete detailed product transfer packs for Murata’s manufacturing site in China.
  • Coordinate, organise, and complete new product transfers to Murata’s manufacturing site in China.
  • Work closely with and support the Production Department, Test Development, Development Engineering, Drawing Office, and Quality.
  • Provide process support for legacy products manufactured in China.
  • Research, investigate, and report on new process and automation options for both UK / China sites.
  • Implement automation, new equipment, and processes at Murata’s China site.
  • Provide ongoing technical support, servicing, and training for any implemented equipment at the China facility.
  • Complete supplier visits, audits, and evaluations of various companies.
  • Organise, implement, and maintain 5S throughout production at the UK site.
  • Follow and work in line with IATF 16949 automotive standards.
  • Ensure all staff are fully aware of the Health and Safety requirements of the Company.
  • Assist the Production Engineering Manager to identify and carry out the training requirements of staff.
  • Ensure any specific objectives or special projects assigned by the Production Engineering Manager are completed on time.
  • Learn, maintain and support the following MK/China based automation machinery and equipment.

  • Mechanical engineering experience

  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in creating and monitoring processes and procedures
  • Three plus years’ experience working in a manufacturing or production engineering environment

Travel: Willing to travel overseas when required.

Compensation Data: Dependent on experience.
