Job Overview
Murano UK LLP is seeking a Fund Selector to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role works in conjunction with the Head of Research, the Sales and Client Relations teams in providing market and investor insights for our fund manager clients based around the world. You would also spearhead bespoke Murano Consulting projects for funds that need specialist advice in relation to their products, such as mapping demand for certain asset classes and how best to pitch to prospective investors. You may also manage the wider team with client related matters and company wide insights. This is a crucial role which will play a key part in supporting our fund manager clients to achieve their fundraising goals. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mind, impeccable communication and presentation skills, and a deep understanding of investment markets. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a fund selector or in a similar industry role. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a wide array of interesting strategies and funds managers in a fast-paced and high performing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Market & Investor Sentiment: gather and interpret investor sentiment and market trends, providing key data to influence decision-making processes.
- Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the sales team, offering research-driven insights to support the sales process and enhance the sustainable growth of Murano’s client base.
- Client Projects: provide bespoke research and insight to clients and make specific recommendations based on relevant data.
- Investor Research & Analysis: compile research and insight on investment strategies and products, to match against client requirements.
- Client Reviews & Support: assist the Head of Research in preparing for and conducting client reviews, offering detailed market insight, colour and investor sentiment relevant to the client’s strategy.
Work closely with the Head of Research with other ad hoc duties and projects, such as training and development of our investor analyst team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Knowledge: technical knowledge related to investment vehicles, asset classes and strategies in both public and private markets, including alternatives is essential for this role. CFA or similar qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- At least 5 years’ experience in fund selection or fund research: Demonstrable experience conducting investment research within asset management, consultancy, or a similar environment.
- Analytical Expertise: deep understanding of global financial markets and investment products.
- Client Focused: Ability to build relationships with clients through provision of clear, insightful, and actionable research.
