Muntons is a significant global supplier to the food and drinks industry with a combined output of around 240,000 tonnes of malted products per year. We supply global multinational drinks companies, major regional food and drink companies, all the way through to start-ups and small independent craft brewers around the world. Malt is the primary raw material for beer and malt whisky. Malted ingredients are used in a variety of applications within food, drinks and baking industries. This role is an opportunity to join the business at an exciting time. In recent years, the business has invested heavily in both the grain intake and maltings facility (excess of £13 million) and we believe our grain intake to be one of the best in the industry. The Job:
In this role you will be part of a team that manufactures and packs liquid and dried malt extracts to agreed targets and specifications whilst maintaining safe and hygienic production, packing and storage facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all products are produced and packed within specification
- To carry out testing and quality checks, recording and maintaining records of these checks
- To understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practice requirements for your area.
- To be proactive in keeping your work area clean ensuring that any cleaning schedules are completed and documentation signed off.
- To ensure that production and packing areas are left in a suitable state for the next shift to run efficiently.
- To adhere to all safety and hygiene control measures and Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
- To become multi-skilled in all areas of Malt Extract Manufacturing.
The Candidate:
- The ability to operate large scale manufacturing equipment.
- The ability to work with minimum supervision.
- A willingness to work flexibly.
- Proficient in using computer based recording and maintenance management systems.
- Hold and maintain a current fork lift licence (desirable)
- The ability to work to and follow written procedures
- The ability to contribute to a team environment
- This is a physically active role.
Hours of Work: 12 hour day / night shift pattern with an average of 42 hours per week.
Rate of Pay: £37,687 per annum.
