The Peating Plant Operator role involves being a key member of the Muntons team at our Driffield site, carrying out production duties in all areas of the plant to agreed targets and specifications. Key duties include:

  • Maintaining and promoting correct Health & Safety standards, following company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining and promoting correct Environmental standards, following company policies and procedures.
  • Carrying out cleaning as required following a clean as you go policy.
  • Operating the peat furnace to ensure a controlled burn, confidently working with fire and following all required fire safety steps.
  • Operating the weighbridge to weigh wagons in and out in line with company procedure.
  • Operating plant equipment and controls using both manual controls and the computerised SCADA system.
  • Loading containers and totes.
  • Using a telehandler and Forklift (Training provided if required).
  • Working alone or as part of a team, with up to one half of shifts requiring lone working.
  • Having basic engineering knowledge to make minor repairs and safely keep machinery running.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and assisting with breakdowns and plant repair.
  • Completing all required paperwork in line with company policy and Peating Plant Manager instructions.
  • Having a flexible approach to a range of tasks and work situations.
  • Communicating all relevant information in a professional manner.

Hours of Work: 12-hour rotating shift pattern (2 days/2 nights/4 days off) giving 24/7 operational cover - 6.00 am to 6.00 pm and 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, averaging 42 hours per week.
