The Peating Plant Operator role:

In this role you will be a key member of the Muntons team at our Driffield site, carrying out production duties in all areas of the plant to agreed targets and specifications. To maintain hygiene levels, carry out packing and storage in all site areas.

Your key duties are:

  • To always maintain and promote correct Health & Safety standards, following the company policies and procedures, always taking a responsible and proactive approach to safety.

  • To carry out cleaning as required following a clean as you go policy. Cleaning to the expected standard.
  • Operate the peat furnace to ensure a controlled burn. You must be confident working with fire, carrying all required fire safety steps.
  • Operate the weighbridge to weigh wagons in and out in line with the company procedure.
  • Operate plant equipment and controls using both manual controls as well as the computerised SCADA system.
  • Load containers and totes.
  • Use a telehandler and Forklift (Training provided if required).
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team. You must be confident working alone with up to one half of your shifts requiring lone working.
  • Has a basic engineering knowledge to make minor repairs and safely keep machinery running. Performing preventative maintenance as well as assisting with breakdowns and plant repair. Completing all tasks to a good standard within capabilities.
  • Complete all required paperwork in line with company policy and Peating Plant Manager instructions.
  • A flexible approach to a range of tasks and work situations.
  • To be open, honest, and professional and do the right thing the right way for the company.
  • To communicate all relevant information in a professional manner.

Hours of Work: 12 hour rotating shift pattern (2 days/ 2 nights/ 4 days off 365 days a year) giving 24/7 operational cover - 6.00 am to 6.00 pm and 6.00 pm to 6.00 am. Averaging 42 hours per week.
