About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Malting Shift Operator to join our production team. This is a key operational role, ensuring the malting site runs safely, efficiently and to schedule, while consistently delivering high-quality malt and maintaining full audit readiness.
As a Malting Shift Operator, you will operate plant and equipment across the full process, from barley intake through to despatch, with a primary focus on the Maltings. You will take pride in site hygiene, carry out autonomous maintenance, and work closely with colleagues across all departments. You will also be a key source of operational knowledge, keeping accurate records of site activity and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Duties
- Carry out daily production activities across all areas of the plant
- Start, monitor and manage product transfers
- Monitor the SCADA control system to ensure plant performance meets expectations
- Visually inspect machinery and processes to confirm correct operation
- Set and adjust levels and controls to optimise plant performance
- Autonomous Maintenance
- Complete Germination Vessel service checks after each unload
- Carry out minor repairs within training and competency, including patching leaks
- Change wash nozzles as required
- Perform general day-to-day maintenance tasks
- Identify and report mechanical issues requiring further support via the Pirina system
- Plant Hygiene
- Complete cleaning tasks in line with hygiene schedules
- Proactively clean areas that fall below required standards
- Respond quickly to clean up spills as they occur
- Administration & Reporting
- Accurately complete all required controlled documentation
- Report operational events and issues during daily meetings
- Monitor, input and record data using the control room computer systems
