Geographic Information Systems (GIS) & Operations Technician Responsibilities:
- Create maps for all departments as required.
- Support managers in scheduling contractor work for planned programs and projects and in the development of tenders and proposals.
- Develop models to assist in strategic calculations.
- Manage the collection of annual reflectivity data.
- Develop and manage all web GIS data and applications.
- Compile and organize data from maps, databases and other sources.
- Perform spatial analysis.
- Analyze, query and run reports using GIS data.
- Database development and management for spatial and related data.
- Assist the Director and Treasury with asset management component identification related to City Wide software.
Qualifications:
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma related to GIS, Civil Technician or related field.
- Previous experience in a municipal administration setting is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in municipal operations or public works maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Excel and ArcGIS Online.
- Project Management certificate considered an asset.
- Proficient skills in website maintenance, Microsoft Office Word, Publisher and PowerPoint; familiarity with municipal software packages including Keystone and FileHold would be beneficial.
- Ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders with tact and discretion.

Facilities and Parks Operator Responsibilities:
- Performs required ice maintenance such as ice resurfacing, edging, ice depth checks and other ice maintenance tasks following departmental procedures and ORFA best practices.
- Assists with ice making, painting and ice removal.
- Conducts required refrigeration plant readings, documentation and assists with regular plant maintenance.
- Assists in maintaining the Centennial Park Pool.
- Performs maintenance of parkland, sports fields, trails and ball diamonds.
- Operates lawn mowers, tractors, weed trimmers, blowers, chainsaw and brush chippers.
- Assists with horticultural duties as assigned.
- Repairs and maintains all related equipment.
- Assists with turf maintenance and repair.
- Provides positive and professional customer service to facility patrons and organizations.
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed O.S.S.D. (grade 12) or equivalent required.
- Possess or willingness to obtain professional development courses, workshops, certificates or designations from provincially recognized associations such as Ontario Recreation Facilities Association, Parks Recreation Ontario and Ontario Parks Association is an asset.
- Related experience in recreation in a municipal environment with knowledge of facilities, arenas, pools, parks, sports fields, trails, related equipment and operations is an asset.

- Integrates separate individual programs for special needs children into the regular program.
