Primary Responsibilities
- Perform ice maintenance tasks such as resurfacing, edging, and depth checks following ORFA best practices.
- Assist with ice making, painting, and removal.
- Conduct refrigeration plant readings and documentation.
- Assist with Centennial Park Pool maintenance.
- Maintain parkland, sports fields, trails, and ball diamonds.
- Operate lawn mowers, tractors, weed trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and brush chippers.
- Assist with horticultural duties.
- Repair and maintain equipment.
- Assist with turf maintenance and repair.
- Provide positive, professional customer service to facility patrons and organizations.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Willingness to obtain professional development certificates (Refrigeration, Chainsaw, Propane, Heights, Pool/Spa, First Aid/CPR/AED).
- Experience in recreation in a municipal environment.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Valid G driver’s licence in good standing.
Benefits and Compensation
- Hourly rate $25.77 – $30.14, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Hours April‑October up to 40 hours per week; November‑March about 24–32 hours per week.
- Variable shifts (early mornings, evenings, weekends).
