We are seeking to recruit a new trustee who can offer some of the following:

- HR expertise
We are looking for a trustee to join our Board of Trustees. You would also join at least two of our committees, which include:
- People and Governance - looking at staffing and policy and governance issues
- Almshouse Property - dealing with our 5 Almshouse Properties and looking to see how we could build some more
- Finance and Risk Committee - dealing with budgets, investments, the monthly management accounts and the annual accounts
- Relief In Need Committee - giving out grants to organisations helping those facing financial hardship in Stratford-upon-Avon
- William Tyler Properties Committee - looking after the William Tyler properties
The Board currently has 13 members and we are looking for those with an interest in supporting our residents through improving our governance structures. We are looking to develop new almshouses and make the maximum use of our permanent endowment funds. By maintaining strong governance as an organisation, we will be able to offer long-term benefits to our residents.
What are we looking for?
- Trustees with skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Social Housing Property experience
- Communication and IT skills
- Legal knowledge
- Charity Law experience
- Financial experience
- HR/personnel experience
- Health and safety knowledge
- Project management
- Fundraising
- Charity governance

What will you be doing?
- Help us to manage our property portfolio of 5 Almshouses, a commercial office building, renovating another building and overseeing the quinquennial works
- Ensuring that the Charity pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its Governing Deed, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy
- Ensuring that the Charity complies with its Governing Deed, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
- Ensuring that the Charity applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects for the benefit of its residents and the wider public, where appropriate
- Ensuring that the Charity defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets
- Safeguarding the good name and values of the Charity
- Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the Charity, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place
- Ensuring the financial stability of the Charity
- Protecting and managing the property of the Charity and ensuring the proper investment of its funds
- Following proper and formal arrangements for the appointment, supervision, support, appraisal and remuneration of the Charity’s staff
