About the role: Would you like to be part of our diverse Global Claims community with a passion for delivering excellent service to our clients and shaping the future of Claims within Munich Re? Our Claims team manages and monitors primary insurance claims. As the team is growing, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated claims expert for our reporting team to focus on portfolio analysis and developing digital claims technologies for our international team. Among your varied activities, you will support our claims managers in decision-making, identify claims leakage, generate claims reports for the business units, and drive a collaborative approach to delivering innovative solutions for Munich Re's DA Claims operations and its clients. You will have the opportunity to help drive the digital transformation of claims management and support new business initiatives to ensure that MR Claims achieve their Ambition 2030.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data collecting, mapping, analytics and maintaining consistency across all clients' data as well as making data accessible to internal partners.
  • Validating metrics and data quality to ensure calculations are accurate; defining data lineage, controls and reconciliation for auditability.
  • Creating reports analysing DA claims portfolios in support of internal oversight activities; designing KPI dashboards and leakage/triage insights.
  • Acting as a product owner for innovative claims management tools, translating business requirements into usable, testable and maintainable digital workflows.
  • Defining what data is needed, which decisions the system makes, and how work moves between users and systems; specifying routing, roles, validations, approvals and SLAs.
  • Designing exception handling, approvals and handoffs; separating workflow logic, business rules and UI for maintainability and operational control.
  • Creating roadmaps for the life cycle of data and workflow projects; prioritising backlogs and coordinating delivery with engineering, data and QA.
  • Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, detecting trends and patterns for diagnostic and predictive analytics; proposing data-driven process improvements.
  • Writing clear, testable acceptance criteria; thinking in test cases, edge cases and auditability for UAT and production readiness.
  • Identifying pragmatic AI/GenAI use cases (e.g., document ingestion, summarisation, triage, routing) that enhance efficiency without replacing claims judgment.
  • Assisting with the preparation of loss runs and claims selection for audits and due diligences.
  • Participating in special Claims 1 projects and ad hoc reporting, as required.

  • Python is a plus.
  • Build dashboards/KPIs in Power BI; define and track SLAs/operational metrics.

  • Primary insurance claims knowledge; end-to-end process and portfolio analytics.
  • Product ownership with a track record of delivering business solutions; maps workflows, not just screens.
  • Translate requirements into states, roles, rules, routing, validations, approvals; separate workflow logic, business rules, and UI.
  • Strong process, workflow, and data structure understanding; designs exceptions, referrals, escalations.
  • Basic AI/GenAI literacy for workflow efficiency.
  • Strong analytics; meticulous with data and detail.
  • Solid project management and communication skills; clear ownership and availability to drive delivery.
  • Self-starter; practical, results-focused in a dynamic environment.

  • Associate/BA or equivalent experience.
