Reporting to: Head of Technical Accounting

Job Purpose: The focus of the role will be the end-to-end management of the production of our IFRS 17 financial results into our quarterly group reporting for our ultimate parent company MunichRe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the timeline for overall IFRS 17 delivery, ensuring model input data is collated accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Review and test the output from the MunichRe IFRS 17 model.
  • Produce reconciliations and commentary to understand the IFRS 17 vs IFRS 4 local result.
  • Manage the delivery of the overall group reporting submissions in accordance with deadlines.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the group and respond to ad-hoc requests to provide support and understanding of the IFRS 17 result.
  • Engage in group projects to enhance the future reporting of IFRS 17.

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent organisational skills – self and others.
  • Proven record of process and system improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, US and UK GAAP.
  • Pro-active, flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to set robust expectations and communicate financial analysis at all levels.
  • Experience of working within the Insurance industry is desirable.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to build cross-function relationships.
