Job title: Global Safety Specialist

Reporting to: Director of Global Safety
Job Purpose
This specialist-level position within HSB’s Corporate Safety Department requires a BS degree and preferred additional safety education or designations, or comparable field experience in developing or improving safety programs. The prime responsibility is to assist the Director of Global Safety in managing the Corporate Safety Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support engineering equipment programs, including personal dosimeter radiation monitoring, PPE, respirator, fall protection, confined space monitors and other current and future equipment needs.
- Conduct training classes (live and virtual) for drivers, new hires, refresher, equipment‑specific and other training needs; develop training presentations and learning materials; collaborate with other departments to create online learning options.
- Support, coordinate and report on Corporate Safety Metrics.
- Conduct safety contract reviews and assist with completion of site access safety questionnaires.
- Investigate injury/illness and near‑miss incidents; apply Root Cause Analysis techniques and become RCA qualified.
- Review and finalize OSHA logs.
- Support and coordinate site access requirements, including drug tests, site‑specific safety training and other safety requirements.
- Manage safety equipment inventory and ordering processes.
- Monitor and maintain accurate data entry into the safety database.
- Work with the Safety Team to meet organizational safety goals.
- Analyze local and industry safety trends to adjust internal safety programs.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
- BS in Industrial Safety or related field, or comparable work experience.
- Certified OSHA 500 and 501 instructor; Certified Defensive Driving Instructor to be obtained within first year of employment.
- Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional designation preferred.
- Several years of experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience with OSHA regulations and additional regulatory/industry bodies preferred.
- Experience in international safety, confined space entry of boilers and/or pressure vessels, contract management, fleet and exposure control.
Additional Skills and Responsibilities
- Strong presentation skills and ability to develop training presentations; experience working with international audiences.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and informative written communications.
- Ability to work independently and with a team to develop and deliver safety programs and trainings.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including international destinations.
- Excellent customer service skills demonstrated by listening, taking ownership, following up and providing positive customer interaction with global clients.
