Overview
In this role you will underwrite large and complex property risks for Munich Re’s facultative facilities, focusing on Nat Cat exposure and relationships with London brokers across global regions. You will shape portfolio strategy, pricing, and risk selection while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive profitable growth. You’ll identify industry trends, contribute to strategic initiatives, and build strong client and broker partnerships. The opportunity combines sophisticated underwriting with a global client network in a dynamic, inclusion-focused culture.

Responsibilities
- Underwrite and price complex property risks in line with authorities and guidelines
- Optimize and maintain a profitable portfolio with attention to accumulation per risk and portfolio
- Build and maintain client and broker relationships through visits and ongoing engagement
- Contribute to underwriting and portfolio strategy development and proactive implementation
- Conduct market, industry and portfolio analyses to identify opportunities
- Identify trends and client needs to generate new business ideas and products
- Participate in and drive initiatives, working groups, and projects
- Ensure collaborative and effective cooperation across interfaces and regions
Key requirements
- Experience underwriting facultative property and knowledge of relevant markets, occupancies and perils
- Strong use of Munich Re underwriting and reporting tools and guidelines
- Experience managing facultative facilities
- High affinity for IT, digitalization and automation
- Excellent client-facing communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Team player with ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Strong networking and intercultural skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Desirable: CII or equivalent
