As Senior Claims Consultant you will uphold strong quality and risk controls across audits, training, and monitoring while applying claims expertise to support Protection strategy. You will lead the Claims client audit programme and translate findings into targeted improvements and training. You will review internal audits, monitor results, and escalate material risks to senior stakeholders. The role sits within UK Life, contributing to protection, longevity and reinsurance structuring goals and requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to protect and grow client profitability. Responsibilities
- Deliver Protection plans, initiatives and client consulting aligned with defined priorities
- Lead the Claims client audit programme and convert findings into risk actions and process improvements
- Design and deliver practical client Claims training matched to audit results and client needs
- Review clients’ internal audit processes and escalate material risks to senior management
- Support the Protection Market Monitoring Group and contribute to internal risk reporting
- Peer review and assess complex claims across Protection lines when required
- Own UKLB’s internal Claims audit function and report key risk indicators
- Collaborate with Biometrics to monitor in-force treaty performance and report to Protection Leadership
- Develop and maintain UKLB’s Claims philosophy
Key requirements
- Strong commercial understanding of Life and Health insurance and reinsurance markets
- Proven ability to engage internal stakeholders and external clients at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines and client expectations
- High-quality written communication
- ACII qualification or equivalent degree-level education (preferred)
