We have an opportunity to join our team as a Regional Manager covering one of two patches: London or South East. Our Regional Managers provide support to our Engineers, Senior Engineers, and our Technical Team. They are a vital resource to ensure HSB Engineering continues to provide its industry-leading levels of service to our customers.

Job Purpose As a Regional Manager you will lead a team of Engineering Surveyors within a designated geographical area, providing motivational leadership and guidance to deliver high-quality services that exceed customer expectations. Our Engineers provide inspection services to customers on site. These inspections ensure we support our customers' obligations around regulatory compliance and help keep their staff and customers safe. As a Regional Manager you will work closely with the Operations Managers to ensure the effective delivery of contracts, meeting all service level agreements, and contributing to the overall success of the business.

Key Responsibilities: At HSB, our People are at the heart of what we do. Our customers remain loyal because of the skill and service that our Engineers provide daily and we are proud of our current retention rate at over 93%. Your role as a Regional Manager is vital to ensuring our Engineers are engaged, safe, happy, and productive so we can maintain and improve upon our already market-leading results. This role will ensure that both our existing customer base and new customers experience exceptional levels of service as we progress our growth ambitions for 2026 and beyond. You will be well rewarded for your skill in achieving this with an attractive salary and a wide range of industry-leading benefits.

A typical Region has around 25 Engineers and is supported by a Technical Trainer and the Principal Engineering Team. You will have full responsibility including P&L for your Region. Your previous experience in managing all aspects of team performance will be well developed so prompt action will ensure our service continuity is maintained. You excel at managing resource capacity against workload. Forward planning to maintain “on time” service delivery to customers is something you are used to doing. Visibility is a key requirement so when you are not at your desk or at meetings you will be in the field, guiding and supporting your Team to create and develop motivated and engaged people who deliver a safe service consistently well. Your recruitment skills supported by the recruitment team will be well honed ensuring you are always “in front” of your growth requirements. Proactive management of Campaigns is an important task. HSB believes safety is the number one priority and your support in a Regional Duty Manager roster is required as part of the role from time to time. You will be a highly regarded people manager who is empowered to create the best environment for your Engineers that ensures we are always the first choice for our customers.

Skills & Experience Proven and demonstrable track record of successfully managing Field based Engineering or service-oriented Teams that deliver “on site services” is essential. Previous experience of the practical application and understanding of regulations such as LOLER 1998, PSSR 2000, PUWER 1998 and COSHH 2002 would be advantageous. Strong customer communication skills are essential, and the confidence to make professional judgements. Strong stakeholder management and engagement experience. Good commercial and financial acumen. Ability to understand, manage and deliver KPIs. A knowledge of lifting equipment inspections, pressure systems, LEV systems and power press machinery inspection and other inspections would be advantageous for applicants. Self-organisation. Proficient knowledge of MS Office and Apple products. Confidence and a can-do attitude is important as this role is accountable for results. Previous experience in an Engineering role, with a focus on an Engineering discipline associated with in-service inspection would be advantageous but not essential.
