We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst to be based in either our London or Manchester office on a full-time hybrid working basis. You will be accountable for the successful delivery of business analysis across the Change portfolio within Munich Re Specialty Group. This role leads a team of business analysts and test analysts, ensuring that business requirements are captured, analysed, and delivered to agreed quality standards, timelines, and budgets. The Lead Business Analyst partners closely with Project Management, Business Architecture, Programme Management, and Change Management teams within Operations, as well as IT and other functions, to drive strategic transformation and operational excellence. This role supports the Head of Change in delivering the Group's Transformation Programme and maintaining an optimised and prioritised portfolio of change projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of business analysis activities in the change portfolio, aligned to strategic goals.
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of business and test analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and training of the business analysis team.
  • Champion consistent business analysis standards and methodologies across the team.
  • Establish appropriate requirement templates and mechanisms to support documentation of business, systems or technical requirements.
  • Balance competing priorities across multiple initiatives while maintaining alignment to business strategy.
  • Partner with Project Management, Business Architecture, Programme Management, Change Management, IT, and other functions to ensure integrated and effective delivery.
  • Act as a key escalation point for analysis-related risks, issues, and interdependencies, championing proactive and collaborative solutioning.
  • Look for cost effective ways to support the portfolio, including ensuring duplication of tasks and roles in projects is minimised.
  • Where required, personally lead and manage complex and high-impact analysis work within the portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Navigate ambiguity and complexity with confidence, applying advanced problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Monitor performance against delivery targets and take proactive action to address deviations.
  • Support the Head of Change in articulating and tracking benefits against defined and measurable KPIs.
  • Actively contribute to the Change Leadership team, supporting the Head of Change as required.
  • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support career development and performance management.
  • Look for ways to continuously improve processes, procedures, controls, and frameworks.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience managing Business Analysis teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation & negotiation skills.
  • Ability to nurture and build a cohesive team structure and spirit.
  • Ability to coach and develop business analysts with varying backgrounds.
  • Ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of wider business goals and the impact the team has on them.
  • Knowledge of insurance policy administration, policy lifecycles and workflows.
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, time-compressed and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for delivery of requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience of test analytics.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, especially agile Scrum.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience with Story Mapping.
  • Experience conforming product definition to regulatory compliance requirements.
