Junior Digital Finance Analyst
Support the transformation of the finance and actuarial function by contributing to solutions that automate manual work, improve data quality and enhance existing tools.
Working closely with IT and cross-functional business partners, you will assist in building and testing new solutions, support their rollout through training and stakeholder engagement, and help leverage capabilities from across the Munich Group for local Munich Re Specialty Global Markets implementation.
Overall Objective Munich Re Specialty Global Markets is a specialty insurance unit of Munich Re Group, delivering specialty insurance solutions across the globe and reinforcing its position as a leading global provider of specialty insurance.
To support the finance and actuarial function's transformation into a more automated, data-driven function, gaining hands-on experience in solution design, data analysis and stakeholder engagement while contributing to the delivery of practical efficiency and quality improvements.
Responsibilities
- Process Review and
Automation: Review existing financial & actuarial processes, under guidance, to identify opportunities for automation and enhancements.
Common areas include automating manual processes, eliminating process duplication, improving data quality and enhancing existing solutions.
- Solution Design, Testing and
Implementation: Support the scoping, design, build and testing of new solutions, such as dashboards and reports, learning to apply the latest tools and best practices as part of the finance & actuarial transformation journey.
Help refresh and maintain existing solutions, including supporting the design and operation of data controls to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Help explore and leverage solutions being used across the Munich Group (e. g.
Munich Finance, Digital Finance Platform) for local MRS-GM implementation.
- Data Analysis and
Insight: Collect, organise and analyse financial and actuarial data sets from various sources, developing insights to support business decisions.
Support the development of predictive and analytical models to help identify financial trends and risk factors, building skills in forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement and
Training: Assist in the transition of new solutions from development to production, supporting stakeholder communication, contributing to in-house training and helping shape support models.
Support cross-functional business partners on transformation projects, contributing across various stages from initiation to delivery.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Essential Knowledge and Experience: Studying towards or holding relevant qualifications and/or work experience in Finance or Actuarial Science.
- Technical
Skills: Working knowledge of Excel, including Power Query / Power Pivot.
Exposure to data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Ability to present analysis clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Awareness of data quality and control principles.
- Behavioural
Skills: Analytical and curious, with a problem-solving attitude.
Good communication skills, comfortable engaging with technical and business stakeholders.
Build effective working relationships across the organisation.
Willingness to learn and support process improvement, identifying opportunities to add value.
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in General Insurance.
- Willingness to learn data preparation tools such as Alteryx.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Required / (preferred) Professional accountancy or actuarial qualification.
- Finalist/Newly qualified accountant or part qualified actuary.
