We are currently looking for a Business Architect, to be based in London on a full-time basis, reporting into the Head of Change.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under direction of the MRS-GM Lead Business Architect to develop a business architecture strategy which will support and enable our extensive growth plans, to achieve Ambition 2030 vision and which will influence the technology architecture landscape.
  • Translate business strategy and outcomes and work under the direction of the MRS-GM Lead Business Architect to partner with the Head of Change, Executive and Senior stakeholders to ensure the operating model supports this.
  • Work with colleagues across the business to undertake capability assessments and map out capability diagrams for required functions.
  • Continually maintain a holistic overview of the business and how we operate in order to identify opportunities to constantly evolve and embed best practice.
  • Work with the Change team to scope and shape significant deliverables, ensuring the team is applying strategic principles and enterprise thinking when delivering change.
  • Work at the initiation stage of initiatives to ‘shape’ new change initiatives, define business capability needs, benefit drivers and business case.
  • Work with the business units to identify outcomes, targets and measures used to define the successful implementation of the target operating model.
  • Work with Process Managers and Business Analysts to ensure traceability of Target Operating Models and Business Capability Models into Business Process Maps and Business Requirements documents.
  • Work with the MRS-GM Lead Business Architect to embed a Business Architecture framework which will drive and apply appropriate governance, design principles and business processes.
  • Undertake feasibility studies to support the launch of new UW Products, Business Models and/or Technology platforms.
  • Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers/policyholders.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience of working at Senior level, influencing Target Operating Model design.
  • Strategic thinker, who always has the long-term picture as a foundation from which design decisions are based.
  • Ability to comfortably switch between strategic big picture and detail.
  • Achieve and share clarity where others see complexity.
  • Modelling business processes using various tools and techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the insurance market (preferably specialty lines), navigating complex matrix structured regulated entities.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member, across a diverse group of backgrounds, geographies and skillsets.
