We are currently recruiting for a Head of Data & Analytics, that will be critical in delivering our strategy. This will be a senior leadership role who will take ownership of driving our digital first and data strategy and capability maturity. This role will be responsible for proactively sourcing opportunities in partnership with the business, to drive value creation by leveraging both, data assets internally and data ecosystem externally.

- Fostering the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across our Businesses
Responsibilities:
- Leadership of the Data & Analytics Organisation, with full oversight of Data Governance, Architecture and Analytics. (At a later stage, building out the Data science practice).
- Take the lead in data opportunity sourcing, working closely with the D&A strategy group to prioritise.
- Take authority, responsibility and accountability for exploiting the value of information assets and analytics used to render insights, augmented and/or automated decision making.
- Evolve D&A strategy, governance forums, working closely with Executive leadership and business data owners. Chair data forums as required.
- Institute and evolve a data operating model that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the strategy.
- Oversee the development and deployment of data and analytics COE. Expand the analytics offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches, skills and technologies.
- In partnership with the Head of Data Governance / Architecture, develop and publish D&A Governance framework. Define, manage and ensure an adequate information trust model, controls for master data and metadata management, including reference data.
- Measure master data and reference data for compliance to policy, standards and conceptual models. Assure the deployment and management of data quality monitoring practices.
- Collaborate with the Information Security Officer and Data Privacy Officer to create policies and controls for the appropriate protection of information assets.
- Develop and maintain controls on data quality to effectively manage the corporate risk associated with the use of data and analytics. Ensure that business reports derived from controlled data are consistent and representative of the true state of the business.
- Identify new kinds, types and sources of data to enable business innovation throughout the organisation. Define processes for the effective integration and introduction of new data.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Significant leadership experience (c.8+ years as a guide) in leading Data & Analytics cross-functional teams and enterprise wide Data & Analytics programs.
- Experience in formulating and implementing Data Strategies.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar etc.
- Agile β Scrum/Kanban, sprint planning using JIRA, TFS or similar.
- Experience with SQL, Python or R (other languages welcomed) from a leadership perspective.
- Experience with data quality monitoring, tooling selection and deployment.
- Master data management awareness.
Desirable:
- Experience from within the London Insurance Market or General Insurance.
- Experience with Data science or leading a Data science practice.
- Experience with Azure Data & Analytics platform.
- University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
