Role Summary: Data Product Owner – GSI Underwriting Workbench. The program focuses on automating data ingestion, submission prioritization, pricing integrations, rules applications, underwriting documentation, binding of business, and policy issuance. You will provide leadership and strategic direction for all data‑related decisions within the program, ensuring alignment across underwriting, operations, analytics, and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data workstream of the global underwriting workbench program.
  • Define and communicate the data product vision and strategy.
  • Collect and analyse data requirements across GSI business units, insurance markets, and lines of business.
  • Align programme objectives, data architecture, and business needs.
  • Prioritise data‑related backlogs, epics, and user stories.
  • Provide input on enterprise data standards, quality rules, lineage, and governance.
  • Partner with Data Analysts, Data Governance, Engineering, and other Product Owners across workstreams.
  • Advocate for data consistency and scalability.
  • Support entrepreneurial business units while promoting a common information strategy at the GSI level.
  • Own the conceptual and logical data model and collaborate with IT on implementation.
  • Coordinate critical data elements with other transformation programs in GSI.
  • Use advanced AI technologies to extract information from submission documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in data strategy, data architecture, or data product management.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the global insurance market.
  • Proven project management capabilities in an agile setup for at least 5 years.
  • Strong technical data‑handling skills (SQL or Python scripting) for at least 5 years.
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and guiding others through ambiguity.
  • Entrepreneurial, customer‑centric mindset and ability to transform requirements into solutions.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Drive, dedication, creativity, and a hands‑on attitude to initiate and execute use cases.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences, ensuring understanding of data uses and limitations.
