The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
We are looking for an Assistant Reporting Accountant to join our London team on a full-time basis with hybrid working. You will assist in the financial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting to Munich Re Group and ensure that they are delivered on time and to the desired quality level. You will also prepare financial reporting data to satisfy various regulatory returns and management information requirements for assigned legal entities. The assistant reporting accountant also has a responsibility to maintain an effective control environment with appropriate quality.
Responsibilities
- Group Reporting - Quarterly reporting of actuals, forecasts and plans for companies within the UK group to the ultimate parent company, Munich Re.
- Audit Files - Ensure quarterly audit files are produced, reviewed and signed off, ultimately providing transparent financial information for each balance on the general ledger.
- Financial Reviews β Assist with financial due diligence analysis of coverholders, brokers and delegated authorities' financials to assess financial suitability for business.
- Statutory Accounts - Preparation of financial statements and accompanying narrative for allocated legal entities, assisting with audit requests.
- Regulatory Returns - Reporting of financial data required by regulators (FCA, CBI, etc.), including RMA returns and Financial Resilience Surveys.
- Other Returns - Submission of various surveys and returns to bodies such as the ONS.
- Group Reporting - Assist with gathering non-financial data for reporting to Munich Re Group.
- External Reporting - Support preparation of statutory ESG disclosures for relevant legal entities.
- ESG Compliance - Ensure adherence to relevant ESG regulations, frameworks, and Group methodology, and stay up-to-date on upcoming regulatory changes.
- ESG integration - With the MRS-GM ESG team, support the integration of ESG and financial reporting processes, and support initiatives to embed ESG principles across the business.
- Assist in managing and adhering to the quarterly reporting timetable, including general time management, organisation of meetings, etc.
- Support ad hoc requests as required.
- Ensure that company procedures and systems are followed and maintained, as per procedures and compliance manuals.
- Help drive forward good conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers/policyholders.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change through ESG practices.
- Awareness of ESG reporting standards, frameworks, and regulations, including ISSB, SECR, EU Taxonomy, and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyse financial and non-financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to different stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
