The Data Excellence Director is a high-visibility senior leadership role responsible for building and spearheading Mundipharma's Data Excellence Centre, serving as the strategic bridge between complex analytics and global business outcomes. This expert-level position is tasked with transforming the organizational culture through upskilling and the gradual implementation of predictive and prescriptive analytics, ensuring that data systems are fit-for-purpose and deliver measurable value. By leading crossâfunctional teams and collaborating closely with IT and senior stakeholders, the Director translates realâtime analysis into actionable insights that drive customer experience and link engagement directly to business success.
Role and Responsibilities
- Establish the Data Excellence Centre: Build and lead a centralized hub that serves global brand strategy centers, business development, and local entities.
- Oversee data analytics and dashboards, translating technical findings into actionable recommendations for senior business leaders.
- Predictive Evolution: Spearhead the gradual implementation of predictive and prescriptive analytics to move the business toward forwardâlooking insights.
- System Design & Deployment: Collaborate with IT to design and deploy fitâforâpurpose quantitative analytics systems that deliver tangible business impact.
- KPI Ownership: Lead the definition, enhancement, and tracking of highâlevel business KPIs to ensure organizational alignment.
- Work with Global/Local marketing teams to understand and respond to their needs/business questions and how data and analytics can answer them.
- Data Sourcing & Integration: Proactively identify and source new data sets to complement existing intelligence and anticipate market changes.
- Drive a dataâdriven culture by enabling and upskilling the organization through training and crossâfunctional engagement.
- Workflow Prioritization: Assess and scope incoming requests to the department to ensure the team's workflow is prioritized against the highestâvalue projects.
- Governance & Compliance: Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure all data usage adheres to internal frameworks and external regulatory requirements.
- Budget & Resource Management: Take full ownership of the department's financial resources, including midâyear and yearâend consolidated budget presentations.
What youâll bring
- Industry Expertise: Ideally have previous experience in a Regional Data Analytics role, specifically within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences sector.
- Data Proficiency with deep knowledge of IQVIA data sets and how to integrate them into advanced analytical tools.
- Mastery of Power BI; additional experience with Tableau, Qlik, or big data coding practices is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience with Veeva CRM or Salesforce Effectiveness is beneficial for driving commercial excellence.
- Leadership in Matrix Organisations: Proven track record of leading and developing highâperforming teams within a complex, global matrix environment.
- Agile Methodology: Inâdepth experience applying Agile principles to data projects and coâcreating functional/technical requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional soft skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and work effectively with "lean" or ambiguous briefs.
- Business Intelligence: Strong grasp of BI terminology, including data integration and the creation of complex data models.
- Strategic Mindset: Highly analytical and solutionâoriented, with the ability to identify business opportunities beyond the specific questions asked.
- Communication Style: A clear, engaging presentation style that simplifies complex analytics for diverse audiences.
