The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a vital scientific partner within the Infectious Disease portfolio, ideally bringing previous experience in the Haemato-Oncology or Haematology therapeutic areas. Operating across the South of England, you will bridge the gap between complex science and clinical practice, providing high-level, non-promotional expertise to key stakeholders, including Transplant Centres, Haematologists, and Microbiologists. The MSL will empower the medical community with the latest scientific data, ensuring healthcare professionals can make the most informed decisions for their patients. By gathering field-based insights and identifying unmet medical needs, you will directly influence our medical strategic plans and reinforce the reputation as a patient-centric, science-driven leader. In this role, you will embody excellence in scientific exchange, operating with total integrity and a steadfast commitment to the highest ethical and regulatory standards.
Role and Responsibilities
- KOL Engagement - Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and academic centers.
- Scientific Exchange, delivering credible, balanced, and high-quality scientific presentations reactively or in promotional settings to support clinical understanding.
- Data & Evidence Generation: Support the development of clinical publications and lead discussions regarding Real World Data (RWD) and Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Provide medical and scientific expertise to cross-functional teams to inform brand plans, marketing programs, and business strategies.
- Design and deliver medical education programs and scientific training for both external stakeholders and internal sales teams.
- Field Medical Support, acting as a field-based technical expert, responding to complex scientific inquiries and providing clinical support within specific therapeutic areas.
- Subject Matter Expertise and maintain deep, up-to-date knowledge of relevant products, therapeutic landscapes, and the evolving structure of the NHS.
- Congresses & Advisory Boards - Represent the company at national and international congresses and collaborate with medical staff to present data at advisory boards.
- Effectively oversee multiple projects, ensuring priorities are adapted to meet both business needs and strategic objectives.
- Compliance & Governance, ensure all activities strictly adhere to the ABPI Code of Practice, statutory regulations, and internal Pharmacovigilance procedures.
What you’ll bring
- Scientific Degree - a higher degree (PhD, Masters, or Pharmacist) is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role within the pharmaceutical industry in Haemato-Oncology or Haematology therapeutic areas.
- Therapeutic expertise with deep clinical knowledge in Haemato-Oncology, Haematology, or Infectious Diseases.
- Solid understanding of the clinical trial process, Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs), and the collection of Real-World Data (RWD).
- Expert knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice.
- Exceptional presentation and networking skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex scientific data to diverse audiences.
- A flexible team player with a history of successful cross-functional working and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prepare high-quality scientific presentations.
- High level of self-motivation, personal accountability, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must hold a full UK driving license.
