Job Role
We are seeking an intelligent, self-motivated and well-organised individual to complement our Surveying, Architectural and Project Management teams in the day-to-day servicing of our clients. The role will sit within the Architectural Design Team, developing CAD drawings for design, detailed design and construction stage details to support the delivery of projects for our clients.
Previous experience in an Architectural setting with a minimum of 2yrs experience is preferable, with an RIBA, CIAT or equivalent technical qualification.
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the design team in the delivery of projects by undertaking a range of architectural duties and ensure the effective and timely delivery.
Carry out site surveys / measured building surveys to record existing information to develop existing building plans / elevations.
Prepare design drawings for Town & Country Planning applications (with minor supervision) for residential, educational and commercial building projects. Submit formal applications to the local authority planning department.
Prepare detailed design drawings for Building Regulation applications (with minor supervision) to demonstrate compliance with the Building Act for residential, educational and commercial building projects. Submit Building Regulations applications to the local authority building control department / approved 'independent' building inspector.
Carry out verbal and written communication / administrative tasks relevant to the production of architectural information.
Carry out allocated tasks competently and professionally within determined timescales.
Adhere to agreed Practice procedures and technical standards.
Liaise in a clear, positive and effective manner with colleagues, clients, town planning officers, building control inspectors and contractors.
Deal with client, contractor, town planning officer and building control inspector queries and establish resolutions (with some / minor direction).
Frequent travel from office / home to and from sites will be required.
Qualifications: Completion of relevant RIBA / CIAT qualification desirable or equivalent in full time office-based experience.
