Our client, a dynamic and growing construction and furniture manufacturing company, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer / Purchasing Officer to join their team and play a key role in sourcing materials, equipment, and services to support projects and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase materials for construction projects and furniture production (cement, steel, wood, fabrics, hardware, finishing materials)
- Request quotations, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Issue purchase orders and monitor deliveries to meet project and production schedules
- Ensure quality and compliance of all materials with required standards
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and cost reports
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and production supervisors
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff
- Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Purchasing / Procurement Officer or Buyer (construction or furniture manufacturing preferred)
- Knowledge of material sourcing and supplier management
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems
