As they shape their next chapter, we’re searching for an exceptional leader to take full strategic, commercial and operational ownership of this iconic venue. A landmark venue that blends heritage, hospitality and ambition hosting world-class events and year-round experiences. A venue with deep community roots and national visibility, now entering an exciting new phase of strategic growth, commercial diversification and infrastructure evolution.

The role involves setting the long-term direction while ensuring flawless day-to-day delivery and commercial performance in this complex and already successful venue. You’ll think like a custodian, be a laser focused operator and lead like an ambassador. As Executive Director you will lead across all event cycles, including peak event days and major programme milestones.

What you’ll lead:

  • Define and deliver long-term venue and infrastructure strategy
  • Lead capital projects, development and future-proofing initiatives
  • Position the venue as a premier national events destination

Commercial Performance:

  • Full accountability for multi-million-pound P&L
  • Grow revenue across sport, concerts, events and experiences
  • Secure high-value partnerships, hires and commercial agreements
  • Drive yield, utilisation and year-round profitability

Safety, Compliance & Governance:

  • Ultimate accountability for spectator safety and risk management
  • Maintain all licensing, regulatory and General Safety Certificate standards
  • Lead multi-agency planning with police, authorities and governing bodies
  • Protect reputation, people and venue integrity at all times

Operations & Infrastructure:

  • Oversee stadium operations, facilities and pitch/asset quality
  • Ensure seamless delivery across all event types and capacities
  • Balance operational excellence with long-term asset stewardship
  • Lead sustainable and efficient venue management
  • Build trusted relationships across sport, government and community
  • Represent the venue nationally with credibility and authority
  • Align clubs, partners and promoters around shared outcomes
  • Strengthen community impact and local engagement

  • Lead and align senior multi-disciplinary teams

This role suits an established Stadium Director, Venue Director or Executive-level leader from major sport, arenas, large-scale events or complex public venues. You’ll bring:
