The Opportunity

This role sits across tactics, strategy, experimentation, and impact. You are a ‘capacity builder’ for the rest of the Product Design team. The position is a UK based role and requires 2 days per week onsite in our London office.

As a Floating Product Designer, you will operate like an ‘internal agency’ designer, providing flexible, high-impact support across multiple teams while helping scale design capacity at Multiverse. When team priorities change or when the fast moving AI market changes you are there to bridge the gap. As a result you will acquire exposure to a huge variety of user and business problems, talented people and subject areas in the AI tech and Ed Tech space.

You will rotate across squads, embedding in different teams for high-priority projects, supporting discovery work, and ensuring that strong design is embedded across the product. Be the go-to designer for high-priority gaps, ensuring teams maintain design momentum and quality. Work across multiple problem spaces, from impact reporting for employers to growth and retention challenges. Help future-proof design resourcing, balancing fast iteration with long-term design excellence. If you thrive in ambiguity, problem-solving, context switching and cross-team collaboration, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Embed into multiple squads, balancing discovery and execution work across multiple teams for a few weeks to a few months depending on the need.
  • Shape both the tactical and strategic discovery initiatives, helping define and test new problem spaces ‘picking up an oar’ whether it’s an easy quick win or a bigger longer term project.
  • Drive user-centered solutions, combining quant/qual research, rapid iteration, and A/B testing to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure design consistency and quality by contributing to the Design System and driving DS adoption across squads.
  • Bridge gaps between teams, drive clarity with squads when ownership falls between two or more teams to align their work with Multiverse’s broader product vision.
  • Operate like an internal agency, supporting teams that need additional design capacity while championing best practices, whilst conveying the priority and trade-offs clearly.

About You

  • A strategic problem solver – You see the bigger picture, connect dots across teams, and design with long-term impact in mind. You’re quick to discuss trade-offs and realistic with timelines.
  • Thrives in ambiguity – You’re excited to dive into early-stage, undefined problem spaces and bring structure to complexity. You are a ‘context switching’ master and the variety is exciting to you.
  • Executive Communication skills – You excel at working across squads, aligning VP/C-suite stakeholders, and driving design influence across the organization.
  • Systems thinker – You contribute to scalable UX patterns, frameworks, and the Design System to improve design quality at scale.
  • User-obsessed and data-driven – You balance qualitative insights with A/B testing and behavioral analytics to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communicator – You can simplify complexity, tell compelling stories, and get buy-in for critical design decisions.

Bonus Points

  • Experience designing B2B, enterprise, or data-heavy products.
  • Strong prototyping skills (Figma, Framer) to test ideas at speed.
  • Experience driving growth, engagement, or retention strategies in digital products.
  • Background in user research and A/B testing to validate design impact.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact at Scale – Help shape how top global companies measure and optimize their investment in skills development.
  • Build from Zero-to-One – Work on high-impact, unexplored design spaces with major business implications.
  • Multi-Squad Collaboration – Be the glue across teams, solving a variety of design challenges and ensuring quality at scale.
  • High Growth, Fast-Paced – Join a rapidly growing company where your work will directly influence product and business success.
