The Role

We're looking for a technically strong IT Systems Engineer to join our lean Enterprise Technology team and build the automation and integrations that keep a fast-scaling business running smoothly. This is a deep, hands-on build role. You'll spend your time in APIs, webhooks, and scripts - designing and shipping automation that genuinely removes toil, integrating our core platforms, and providing the technical horsepower behind our major programmes. We care about what you build and how well it holds up, not how loud you are about it - "headphones on, get it done" is absolutely a personality we'll make room for.

You'll partner closely with our IT Implementation Lead, who owns programme direction, stakeholder management, and compliance - they clear the path and hold the plan; you build the solutions. If you enjoy solving hard technical problems, building things that scale, and seeing your automation quietly save the whole company hours every week - this is the role for you. You'll report into the Enterprise Technology function, working alongside our Implementation Lead and Security colleagues.

What You'll Do

  • Build and ship automation that actually matters
  • Identify manual bottlenecks across Enterprise Technology and design smarter, automated workflows - from user provisioning and licence management to compliance reporting and support triage
  • You won't just be maintaining systems; you'll be building the scalable foundations we need as the business grows
  • Own your automation end-to-end - design, build, document, and maintain it so it's resilient and understood by the rest of the team
  • Integrate and engineer our core platforms
  • Build and maintain integrations across our stack - identity, endpoint, SaaS, and security tooling - using APIs, webhooks, and scripting
  • Provide the technical depth behind our major programmes - identity platform consolidation, endpoint security, and machine-identity management
  • Bring a security-aware, infrastructure-literate lens to everything you build, so automation is safe by design
  • Keep what you build solid
  • Write clear documentation so your work is understood and maintainable by the whole team, not just you
  • Build in monitoring and error handling so automation fails safely and visibly, not silently
  • Continuously improve and harden existing systems and workflows as the business and tooling evolve

What You'll Bring

We value different perspectives and a variety of backgrounds. Technical depth matters most here, but we care just as much about your mindset - the rigour you bring to your work and your drive to build things that last. We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have solid hands-on experience in an IT systems, infrastructure, or automation role - you're comfortable building the bridge yourself, not just speccing it out
  • You have an automation-first mindset and a track record of using tools and code to reduce repetitive work and scale operations
  • You're comfortable working directly with APIs, webhooks, and scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) - you enjoy getting into the detail
  • You're experienced with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 administration at an enterprise level
  • You understand how identity, SaaS, and endpoint systems connect, and you bring a security-aware lens to what you build
  • You write clear documentation and hold yourself to a high standard without being prompted

Bonus points (but not required) for:

  • Familiarity with integration/automation platforms like Zapier, n8n, or Workato
  • Hands-on experience with modern identity platforms (e.g. Okta, Entra ID, JumpCloud) or MDM tooling (e.g. Jamf, Intune)
  • Exposure to endpoint security / EDR tooling
  • An understanding of IT security frameworks such as ISO 27001 - what controls and evidence look like in practice
  • A background in high-growth tech or edtech environments

What We Offer

A genuinely high-impact role - your automation will touch the whole business, not just tickets in a queue. A lean, collaborative team where your judgement is trusted and your work is visible. The chance to build and shape how Enterprise Technology scales at a fast-growing edtech company.

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year
  • Health & Wellness - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support
  • Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month
  • Work-from-anywhere scheme - you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year
  • Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch-ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that’s always stocked!

We’re an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Multiverse is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners. We expect all employees to share this commitment and adhere to our Safeguarding Policy, our Prevent Policy and all other Multiverse company policies. Successful applicants will be required to undertake at least a Basic check via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS). For roles that will involve a Regulated Activity, successful applicants must also undergo an Enhanced DBS check, including a Children’s Barred List check and a Prohibition Order check. Roles involving Regulated Activity may interact with vulnerable groups, therefore are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 meaning applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings. Providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and possible referral to the police and the DBS.
