Job Summary - Fixed Term Contract
You will be working in a friendly and collaborative team that is committed to delivering excellent support to apprentices. You will sit in the Functional Skills team, whose mission is to broaden access to apprenticeships by working with apprentices to achieve Maths and English Level 2 qualifications. Your team supports the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of our apprenticeship programmes.
In this role, you will be passionate about developing English skills and love supporting learners to achieve great results. You will also ensure the processes supporting our subject tutors are effective and efficient. You will demonstrate strong communication skills and be expected to support others, show initiative, manage priorities, solve problems, and make decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Speaking & Listening element of our Level 2 English offer, ensuring that apprentices and clients have an outstanding experience.
- Schedule, facilitate and assess Speaking & Listening exams following a given process, providing feedback to apprentices.
- Support with the delivery of excellent and engaging English sessions to individuals and groups.
- Strive to support the already outstanding first-time pass rate and for apprentices to have completed Functional Skills in a timely manner.
- Manage the Functional Skills inbox, responding to apprentice queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Provide and coordinate administration support both internally and externally, including qualification queries.
- Assist the wider business with ad hoc reports, special projects and strategic initiatives, in line with company priorities.
- Constantly review processes to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Support the Learning team as a literacy SME.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of English teaching experience (Including TA or Tutoring), and you are now looking to apply your skills in an exciting and challenging environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver excellent outcomes.
- Ability to complete and review critical processes with accuracy and pace.
- Exceptional organisation and problem-solving skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Provide excellent customer support by effectively communicating and building relationships with people quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
