The Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Procurement Lead to establish and manage our global procurement function. Our company has 1,000 employees and a non-headcount, non-real estate spend of approximately $40 m annually, primarily across SaaS, Contractors, and Marketing & PR. This is a strategic, yet highly operational role. You will be responsible for building the procurement framework from the ground up, driving value and efficiency from our spend, managing key supplier relationships, and enabling our teams to move quickly and responsibly. You will define our procurement strategy, but more importantly, you will implement and own the systems and processes that make it a reality. A key part of this role is mastering our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) ecosystem, leveraging Omnea (Intake/Sourcing), Ramp (Spend Management), and NetSuite (ERP) to create a single source of truth. You'll work closely with senior leaders across Marketing, Engineering, GTM, Data, Finance, and Operations to ensure procurement acts as a strategic partner and an enabler of growth.
What You’ll Do
- Strategy & Execution: Define and execute a procurement strategy aligned with our commercial goals, focusing on value creation, cost-efficiency, and compliance across all indirect spend.
- Category Management: Lead sourcing, negotiation, and contract management for our key spend categories: SaaS, Professional Services/Contractors (SOWs), and Marketing/PR.
- Systems Ownership: Own and optimise our P2P tech stack. You will be the business owner for Omnea, Ramp, and their integration with NetSuite, driving adoption and building frictionless workflows.
- Process & Governance: Establish and scale procurement policies, governance frameworks, and approval workflows that enable the business while managing risk.
- Vendor Management: Build and scale a vendor management framework to ensure performance, manage risk, and drive value from strategic suppliers.
- Compliance: Partner with our Security and Legal teams on the Vendor Due Diligence (VDD) process to ensure suppliers meet our security and data standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Data & Analytics: Implement dashboards and analytics to provide visibility into spend, vendor performance, savings, and ROI.
- Business Partnering: Serve as the primary point of contact for procurement matters and evangelise a culture of smart, responsible spending across the business.
- Functional Ownership: Act as the primary procurement expert, managing the function end-to-end. This is a “player-coach” role where you will be the main driver and doer, with the potential to mentor junior support as the function scales.
What You Bring
- Experience Level: A Senior Manager or Head of level professional with 8-12+ years of progressive experience in indirect procurement or strategic sourcing.
- The “Builder” Profile: You must have experience building a procurement function from scratch (or “from 0 to 1”) in a similar high-growth, tech-first environment. Your sweet spot is scaling processes for a company of our size.
- The “Player-Coach” / Senior IC: This is a hands-on role. You must be an autonomous expert comfortable being the sole, senior procurement professional—willing to run the sourcing process, negotiate contracts, and configure the system workflows yourself.
- Category Expertise: Deep, hands-on expertise in sourcing and managing our key categories: SaaS, Professional Services/Contractors, and Marketing/PR.
- Essential Tech Stack Experience: You must be genuinely “tech-savvy” and comfortable in a modern fintech environment. Direct, hands-on experience with Omnea, Ramp, and/or NetSuite is a significant advantage.
- Stakeholder Gravitas: Excellent communication skills with the credibility to influence senior leaders (VPs, Directors). You must be a data-driven partner who can challenge stakeholders respectfully, not just take orders.
- Commercial & Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation, commercial acumen, and contract management skills.
- Data-Driven: Comfortable using data and analytics to guide decisions and measure performance.
Bonus Points For
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent.
- Experience building a “Procurement-as-a-service” function that acts as a true partner to business budget holders.
Benefits
- Time off – 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year.
- Health & Wellness – private medical insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill – all in one mental health support.
- Hybrid work offering – we collaborate in the office 3 days per week.
- Work-from-anywhere scheme – you’ll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year.
- Team fun – weekly socials, company-wide events and office snacks!
