Job Purpose: Production Supervisor controls shop floor manufacturing of products by supervising staff; organising and monitoring work flow.
Hours: 6am - 2pm
Duties / Areas of Responsibility:
- Direct and manage the Line Leaders & General Assembly Line workers to complete tasks in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Lead, co-ordinate and sign-off line setup and paperwork in an efficient and effective manner on a daily basis.
- Identify production line issues quickly and find ways to resolve them so that deadlines are still met without compromising quality with the support of the Team; Operational Staff; Line Leaders/Setters, Technical & Engineers.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Scheduling and assigning personnel and confirm with Production Manager; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Arranging temporary labour with aligned agencies, planning staff for daily production.
- Ensures lines are providing accurate manufacturing information by compiling daily production performance records and data for business analysis.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Help resolve production problems by investigating issues; help identify solutions and recommending action as part of team.
- Enforcement of regulations, line leaders must ensure that all members of the team follow company policies and that health and safety regulations are being enforced to meet safety compliance.
