Multitask Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist metering services provider, established to address a gap in the energy sector. The company delivers niche meter reading and communications support, enabling engineers to focus on their core technical work while helping reduce overall service costs.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a government-backed consortium project, supporting the nationwide rollout of smart electricity and gas meters. You’ll be working on sites where standard smart meter installations may not be suitable, assessing whether alternative technology is required to enable installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct suitability surveys for smart meter installations
- Perform signal testing to determine whether in-home displays will function within standard parameters
- Assess whether a standard installation is viable or if alternative solutions are required
- Capture accurate measurements of meter rooms using specialist equipment (GoPro, laser measurement tools, etc.)
- Record site data and meter locations using a company laptop
- Support the design process by providing detailed information for CAD-based redesigns where necessary
Skills & Experience
- Strong attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving
- Comfortable using technology (Android smartphones, Windows laptops, tablets)
- Full UK driving licence (required)
- No prior experience is required – full training will be provided. This is a niche and highly specialised role. Would suit people with previous Field-based / on-the-road experience, or technical/ hands-on roles.
