We are recruiting for a Building Fabric Technician to support a major hospitality contract across Newcastle, Sunderland and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a well-established facilities management business, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of sites.
The Role
Working across multiple locations, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of building fabric maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Typical duties will include:
- General building repairs and maintenance
- Carpentry and joinery works
- Repairs to doors, locks, windows and glazing
- Painting and decorating
- Wall, floor and ceiling repairs
- Roofing, guttering and drainage maintenance
- Basic plumbing repairs
- Internal and external fabric maintenance
- Responding to reactive maintenance call-outs
- Completing work records and documentation using CAFM systems
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Building Maintenance, Joinery, Construction or equivalent
- Valid CSCS Card
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, shopfitting or construction
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- IT literate
Working Hours
37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Participation in an on-call rota (1 on 4)
Overtime available and paid at 1.5x hourly rate
