We are seeking an experienced Mobile Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer to support a reactive maintenance contract across 90 fire stations. The role covers circa 200 reactive jobs across the region and requires a multi-skilled engineer capable of diagnosing and completing a variety of mechanical and plumbing repairs to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend reactive maintenance calls across the designated fire station portfolio
- Diagnose faults and carry out first-time fixes where possible
- Complete mechanical and plumbing repairs including but not limited to leaks, blockages, pumps, valves and associated fittings
- Manage own workload and travel schedule efficiently across a wide geographic area
- Accurately complete job sheets, reports and compliance documentation
- Work safely and in line with site-specific health and safety requirements
- Liaise professionally with site staff and the wider maintenance team
Essential Requirements
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in a relevant trade (Mechanical/Plumbing)
- Valid DBS check
- Asbestos Awareness certification (UKATA or IATP)
- Full UK driving licence
- Multi-skilled with proven mechanical and plumbing experience
- Ability to work independently and manage a mobile reactive workload
- Own tools appropriate to trade
Desirable
- Previous experience working within public sector or fire service environments
