About the Company

Our client is seeking qualified and experienced Installation Electrician to join their growing team nationwide specializing in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and electric vehicle (EV) charging point installations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation, testing, and commissioning of solar panels, inverters, battery storage, and EV chargers in commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and commission solar PV systems and EV charging points to industry and company standards.
  • Perform AC and DC electrical wiring, including inverters, isolators, and distribution boards.
  • Install associated hardware such as mounting systems, conduit, trunking, and cable containment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site during and after installation.
  • Complete necessary documentation and electrical certificates (e.g., EIC, EICR).
  • Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), Part P, and relevant OZEV or MCS standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow company and site-specific health and safety procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with clients on-site.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other installation team members.

About You

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years fully qualified electrician.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Testing & Inspection).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • CSCS/ECS card.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Proven experience in installing electrical systems, ideally including solar PV and EV charge points.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Desirable:

  • MCS accreditation experience (or familiarity with MCS-compliant work).
  • EV Charger Installation training (e.g., City & Guilds 2919).
  • Experience with battery storage systems.
  • Working at Height, Manual Handling, and Asbestos Awareness training.
