About the Role
Due to new contract wins and growth, our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded M&E Buyer to join their growing team based near Chesterfield. They specialise in delivering high-quality Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects across the Commercial and Retail sectors, and this role will play a key part in supporting their continued success. You will be responsible for the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services for multiple M&E projects, ensuring best value, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of M&E materials and subcontract packages across projects
- Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing in line with project budgets
- Prepare and issue enquiries, analyse quotations, and make recommendations
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
About You
- Proven experience as a Buyer within the M&E industry
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical components and systems
- Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and value engineering
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in procurement systems and Microsoft Office
