Are you a commercially minded Contract Manager looking to take real ownership of a key part of the business? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established storage operation, taking the lead on the delivery and commercial performance of a portfolio of storage contracts.


You’ll be the vital link between clients, operational teams and senior management, ensuring contracts run safely, efficiently and profitably, while building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to add value. Key Responsibilities



  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery and management of assigned storage contracts

  • Working on a high quantity of projects at any given time

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, professional relationships

  • Manage the commercial performance of contracts, including budgets, costs, revenue and profitability

  • Review contractual requirements, ensuring all obligations, service levels and KPIs are consistently achieved

  • Monitor storage capacity, utilisation and operational efficiency

  • Work closely with warehouse, logistics and operational teams to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery

  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of customer goods where required

  • Ensure stock and inventory processes are accurately maintained and contractual requirements are met

  • Monitor contract performance against agreed KPIs and produce regular reports for clients and senior management

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Manage variations, additional works, changes in scope and associated commercial negotiations

  • Support pricing, tendering and contract renewal activity

  • Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance where applicable

  • Ensure all contractual documentation, records and reporting are maintained accurately

  • Proactively identify operational, commercial and contractual risks and implement appropriate mitigation

  • Work collaboratively with H&S and compliance teams to ensure storage operations meet all relevant legislation, policies and procedures

  • Investigate and resolve client queries, complaints and service issues promptly

  • Lead regular contract review meetings with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Support business development by identifying opportunities to expand existing storage contracts and services

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on contract performance, risks, opportunities and financial position

  • Lead and motivate operational teams where the role has direct management responsibility


About You


Essential:



  • Proven experience in contract management within storage, warehousing, logistics, distribution or a similar industrial environment

  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and contract profitability

  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience working to KPIs, SLAs and contractual performance targets

  • Good understanding of warehouse and storage operations

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to analyse financial and operational information and make commercially sound decisions

  • Experience managing contractual changes, variations and commercial issues

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel

  • Ability to work independently while also working effectively with operational and senior management teams


Desirable:



  • Experience within industrial, engineering, manufacturing or heavy-industry environments

  • Knowledge of specialist, technical or heavy-equipment storage

  • Experience managing large-scale or high-value storage contracts

  • Understanding of stock control and inventory management systems

  • NEBOSH, IOSH or other relevant health & safety qualification

  • Relevant contract/commercial management qualification
