Candidate Locations: Chesterfield – field and office based

Permanent Full time – Monday to Friday

Salary: £45 to £48k per annum with commission

Must be able to drive – you will also get an electric car and an EV charger installed at home.

About the Company

Our client is a rapidly growing HVAC and renewable technology installer in the Midlands. In order to support their ambitious growth plans they are now looking for an experienced business development manager to secure new sales opportunities. The new role is being introduced to support their energy solutions business in developing new opportunities in the industrial, commercial, FM and public sector. At present they work for multiple national retail and distribution companies across the UK which is ongoing growth. If you possess a strong HVAC technical understanding and are currently working in an estimating, engineering or supervisory role and are considering a move into a sales role, we will welcome your application to discuss this exciting opportunity in more detail.

The clear aim for the new role is to approach new clients, professionally sell our clients services and create some high-quality enquiries. They are more interested in quality opportunities that they can develop into partnerships rather than volume. The industry leading team will then take care of all elements from design, quotation, stock, technical support and finance, leaving you to focus on developing and nurturing client accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • To increase sales turnover and increase brand awareness within an agreed list of existing and target customers.
  • To provide the wider team with industry specific updates.
  • Execute an effective business plan to achieve or exceed set sales targets / business objectives.
  • You will be given a 2-year growth sales plan, maximising your potential of meeting, and achieving sales targets.
  • Generate future opportunities within new accounts across a variety of end user clients, frameworks and FM clients.
  • Grow sales within existing accounts, looking to see where we can add additional value to their business.
  • Develop relationships with mechanical design consultants and build a project specification pipeline within the Midlands.
  • End-to-end project tracking, sales forecasting, and conversion.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows promoting the business and what is on offer.
  • Performance against agreed sales targets.
  • Overall pipeline, specification, and conversion targets.
  • Key account development and new business acquisition.
  • Customer retention and expansion for existing accounts.
  • Regional activity as agreed with the sales and bid manager.

About You

  • Good technical understanding of Heating, Ventilation and Airconditioning systems, manufacturers and marketplace trends.
  • Good existing network of contacts across FM providers, Fit Out companies and End Users.
  • Understanding of the relevant legislation and regulations relating to the HVAC.
  • Emotional Intelligence, Strong drive to succeed, Excellent people skills, with proven professional sales and negotiation abilities.

Desirable

  • Technical understanding of HVAC system design and solutions.
  • Technical or professional qualification in reference to HVAC or Sales.
  • Experience of submitting detailed customer proposals on time.
  • Experience working within the HVAC Industry.
  • Experience of meeting and excelling against sales targets.
