Job Description
Maintenance Technician
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Glenrothes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Technician with experience working on CNC and general engineering machinery.
You will play an important role in keeping production equipment running safely, efficiently and reliably.
The position is initially offered on a 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for further opportunities.

- Continental Shift Pattern
- 12-hour shifts4 days on / 4 days off
- £22.76 per hour including shift premium
- 3-Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- 37 hours per week
- Rotating days, backs and nights
- £20.20 per hour including shift premium
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults on CNC and general engineering machinery.
- Identify and eliminate the root causes of equipment breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
- Complete planned maintenance and follow-up work to a high standard.
- Identify recurring machinery faults and recommend effective solutions.
- Support improvements to machinery reliability, efficiency and performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve maintenance processes.
- Share technical knowledge, information and ideas with colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of maintenance procedures and working practices.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company Health & Safety procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have
- An ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of CNC and general engineering machinery.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
- Good attention to detail.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- The ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.
