Job description Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and administrative tasks. This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their skills in finance while contributing to the overall success of the company. Responsibilities The key responsibilities of this role will include, but not limited to: * Work alongside the Management Accountants to support in the monthly management accounts process * Prepare and post accurate month end journals * Handle bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy * Liaise with the Management Accountants on issues relating to the sales ledger and debt collection * Assisting the Purchase Ledger team, matching invoices with purchase orders, input of invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier statements, sending remittances and dealing with queries * Provide cover at month end and during team annual leave in purchase ledger and sales ledger functions * Cash posting for bank transactions * Processing expense claims * Assist in preparing documentation and schedules required for internal and external audits * Keep procedure notes up to date so that all processes are fully documented * Supporting with key activity and projects within the Finance department Requirements * Working towards AAT level 4 or AAT Qualified * A high level of numeracy skills, minimum 5 GCSEs to include Maths & English to Level 4 or above * Experience of Sage 50 would be advantageous * Strong IT and MS Excel skills (including pivot tables, look ups etc.) * A ‘right first time’ and ‘can do’ attitude * Excellent attention to detail * High levels of personal organisation * Commitment to accuracy and driving efficient processes * A proven ability to build strong professional relationships * A great team player who is flexible with shifting workloads * Excellent communication skills across a variety of formats This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within the finance sector while contributing to our team\’s success.
