Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a Technical Lead for Data Centres. At Multiplex the Technical Lead is a leadership role in the design management of our projects, and reports directly to the Project Director or Deputy Project Director.
What is the overall job?
The Technical Lead is accountable for the completeness, coordination, timing and buildability of the building design by the design consultants including all statutory compliance. In managing this the role will actively develop deeper and enhanced relationships with our clients and consultants, and equally be responsible for the management, performance and development of their technical team working on the project.
Other Responsibilities In The Project-based Role Include:
- Critically monitor the operational and commercial aspects of the design and determine strategies and actions to mitigate risks and optimise profitability
- Deliver the design to budget, maintaining change control protocols and understanding design contingency at all stages of the design
- Managing project change, through implemented change control protocols
- Management of the Client Monitoring Team (CMT) Design Review process
- Support bid submissions for design management and present the design solution at mid and post tender interviews
- Assist in the tendering and appointment of consultants and our trade contractors
- Support the project team and Package Managers with all design and technical queries
- Continue to obtain and discharge all statutory approvals to meet the requirements of the programme
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Experience working on Data Centres, ideally involving hyperscale tenants
- Team leadership qualities
- Experience working on live, technically challenging construction projects
- Educated to degree level or equivalent. Recognised disciplines include; Architecture, Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying or similar building related studies
- Professional memberships; CIOB, CIBSE or similar affiliation
