Interested in shaping skylines across the globe? Multiplex is a premier construction company with a simple purpose: to construct a better future. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to help deliver some of the world's most iconic projects, supported by approachable leadership and an inclusive culture that puts our people first.

You will also have access to a range of holistic benefits including:

  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • 8% company contribution pension
  • 25 days annual leave + holiday buy options
  • Single private medical cover
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Virtual GP service
  • Competitive parental leave
  • Several flexible benefits from season ticket loans, discounted gym memberships to a cycle to work scheme
  • Professional career development opportunities and a wealth of learning offerings through the Multiplex Learning Academy
  • An industry-leading approach to flexible work to enable better work-life balance

Who we're looking for:

Our people are united by a common belief: that we can outperform in everything we do. The QC Lead (Building Services) drives prevention of repeat post-PC defects and margin erosion driven by building services by providing targeted, solutions-focused Quality Control across high-risk building services activities during the Construction Phase of live projects.

The role focuses on early identification of design, workmanship, materials and interface risks during the Construction Phase of our live projects – targeting the High-Risk Quality Targets (as defined from time to time) – ensuring timely close-out before close-up, and feeding structured Lessons Learned back into the High-Risk Quality Targets, Multiplex Way and the Centre for Excellence.

The role does not take ownership from projects; it sharpens project accountability through clear, evidence-based QC outputs and through working collaboratively with projects, rather than through policing them.

High-Risk Quality Targets (Building Services) - For each live project (PCSA and Construction Phase), report to the Head of Q&AP – on a monthly basis – on any exposure to the High-Risk Quality Targets where relevant to Building Services.

QC Observations - Raise QC Observations during inspections of live projects, including but not limited to Building Services.

QC Risk Decisions Required - Utilising the ‘QC Risk Decision Required' template, identify to the Project Director important design, workmanship or materials risks during the Construction Phase that have not been satisfactorily resolved through the QC Observations process. Collaboratively set out the problem, the risk, and how you propose to help implement the solution. Ensure accountability through clearly capturing the Project Director's decision and rationale in writing.

ITPs (Building Services) - On each live project (Construction Phase), verify whether ITPs and inspection records for Building Services are in place and being followed for critical activities; flag gaps early to the Project Team and the Head of Q&AP.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Strong Building Services background with deep expertise in at least one core discipline (mechanical, electrical, public health or commissioning), and working understanding of the others sufficient to identify quality, interface and evidence risks.
  • Experience inspecting / assuring life-safety building services interfaces.
  • Understanding of Building Services installation quality, interfaces and common failure modes that drive DLP / Legacy cost.
  • Working knowledge of inspection and test planning, evidence capture, and structured close-out before close-up.
  • Ability to read drawings / specifications and challenge buildability and compliance risks.

A note on diversity:

Diversity is about celebrating the ways we are all different and appreciating the unique qualities that every employee brings. We invite applications from people of all genders, cultures and walks of life. Research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for roles if they don't meet every qualification. So even if you don't match all the criteria - if you are passionate about helping to construct a better future, we'd love to hear from you.

We are committed to providing a barrier-free work environment and can support with reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process. Simply inform our Talent Acquisition team during your conversation with them.
