Position Overview
The QC Lead (Building Services) drives the prevention of repeat post‑PC defects and margin erosion driven by building services by providing targeted, solutions‑focused Quality Control across high‑risk building services activities during the Construction Phase of live projects.
Responsibilities
- Report monthly on any exposure to the High‑Risk Quality Targets where relevant to Building Services.
- Raise QC Observations during inspections of live projects, including but not limited to Building Services.
- Utilise the ‘QC Risk Decision Required' template to identify important design, workmanship or materials risks during the Construction Phase that have not been satisfactorily resolved through the QC Observations process, and ensure accountability through documented decisions.
- Verify ITPs and inspection records for Building Services on each live project, flag gaps early to the Project Team and the Head of Q&AP.
Qualifications
- Strong Building Services background with deep expertise in at least one core discipline (mechanical, electrical, public health or commissioning) and a working understanding of the others.
- Experience inspecting / assuring life‑safety building services interfaces.
- Understanding of Building Services installation quality, interfaces and common failure modes that drive DLP / Legacy cost.
- Working knowledge of inspection and test planning, evidence capture and structured close‑out before close‑up.
- Ability to read drawings / specifications and challenge buildability and compliance risks.
