Multiple Access Communications Limited (MAC Ltd) is located at Southampton Science Park and operates in the Defence, Security & Space sectors.

As Business Development Manager at MAC Ltd, you will work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to identify markets and customers where our expertise can add value, and build the commercial engine to drive the business forward.

This role focuses on solving real problems through a consultative sales approach. You will engage with customers to understand their challenges in the radio and electromagnetic spectrum domain, helping them articulate their needs and discover solutions together.

You will have the opportunity to shape the next phase of MAC Ltd's journey, working directly with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, and contributing to the strategic direction and growth plan of the company.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and securing new clients across defence, security and space, and growing existing accounts.
  • Building relationships across industry groups and representing MAC Ltd at trade events.
  • Owning the pipeline: reporting to the Board on value, risk and opportunity, and delivering agreed targets.
  • Shaping MAC Ltd's growth strategy based on market landscape insights.
  • Developing the commercial infrastructure that supports continued growth.

To be successful in this role, you should be:

  • A consultative seller with experience in selling services, enjoying the discovery process alongside customers.
  • Experienced in the defence, security and/or space sectors, understanding how they buy and who the key players are.
  • Technically curious, able to absorb complex technical material and translate it for customers.
  • A natural relationship-builder with patience and resilience for complex, long-cycle sales.
  • Strategic in outlook, comfortable contributing to company direction.
  • Integrity-driven in your dealings with customers.
